On Saturday, Donald Trump said he is considering pardoning late boxing legend Jack Johnson. Johnson, the first black heavyweight champion of the world, was jailed in 1912 after having a relationship with a white woman. The arrest was on the grounds that his relationship with Lucille Cameron, a white prostitute who later became his wife, violated the Mann Act against “transporting women across state lines for immoral purposes.” Trump said of Johnson, who died in 1946, "His trials and tribulations were great, his life complex and controversial. Others have looked at this over the years, most thought it would be done, but yes, I am considering a Full Pardon!"
